DAN & CARLOS

These two gorgeous, professional and fashion forward gentlemen got married at Miami’s most sought out wedding venue, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. They started their day getting ready at The East Hotel with their parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. Manolo Doreste was able to capture some Vogue magazine like shots of these handsome and stylish men.

Their celebration started with cocktail hour, where the gentlemen were able to welcome and spend time with their guests before saying their “I Do’s”. Upon entering the Museum, guests were welcomed with a glass of champagne and string musicians provided by Alvento Entertainment, playing tunes from Cold Play & Vitamin String Quartet in the background. Guests were then escorted to the mound where their interfaith ceremony would be officiated by Rabbi Michael Raab. Dan wore a tuxedo by Ralph Lauren and Carlos in a tuxedo by Tom Ford. But let it be known that “they were dressed from head to toe in love…the only label that never goes out of style”.

After the guests voiced “Mazel Tov”, they were led into the garden themed tent for the reception. From our initial decor meeting, it was made clear that Dan & Carlos wanted an elegant affair and although they weren’t afraid to use florals, they wanted to keep a masculine feel. With the help and hands of Ana Cintron, she delivered precisely what I had envisioned for their decor - which consisted of garlands hanging from tent, greenery with touches of orchids for centerpieces and an array of candles to bring in the romance. I felt that keeping their color palette to black and gold would also allow for modern, masculine and lush feel. Event Factor illuminated the gardens and reception and also provided a “LOVE” marquee that served as a backdrop for guests portraits. I also added a bowtie to the menus designed by The Invitation Stand, to give it that elegant touch - which actually served as party favors, as guests wore them throughout the night.

Rock with U kept the dance floor at capacity the entire night - playing the grooms’ favorite tunes from Camila Cabello to Britney Spears - but more about Britney a bit later….

In order to not lose momentum on the dance floor, I had the waitstaff pass mini bits of Earth & Sugar’s delicious cake as guests continued to party. As guests exited the Museum, Joy Wallace sent them off with shots of Cuban espresso and miniature churros - a sweet ending to a gorgeous celebration reminding us that #loveislove .

“I COULDN’T HELP BUT WONDER”…..

Did you ever wonder how long it takes to set up a wedding of this caliber at Vizcaya? It takes about roughly 3 hours, as well as an entire village. Due to the Museum’s rules and regulations, the Museum must remain open to the public and tourists until 6pm - which means your event really can’t begin until 6:30pm. The East Terrace is opened for set up at 3:00pm, the Mound at 4:00pm and the inside of the House at 5:30pm. We had an amazing team of creative partners - truly an army of people - that were extremely organized and came together to be able to handle it all, while making it look absolutely stunning within the 3 hour time frame.

Back to Britney, Carlos is lovingly known for his Britney Spears dance offs. At their home, Dan was never surprised to see Carlos put on an impromptu show - dancing and singing to one of Britney’s tunes. So it would only be appropriate to have a Britney dance off at their wedding - which led Carlos to show off his choreographed moves. Unfortunately, Carlos was so wrapped up in the moment - he forgot for a second he was in fragile tuxedo pants - which he ripped while dancing. “Oops…he did it again”.
